MY STORIES
Last Thursday on the 7:30am bus, I saw a sweet silver-haired lady standing near me. Every seat was taken, and she was struggling to hold the rail while balancing her grocery bags. I offered my seat - just a small gesture. What happened next stuck with me: Her eyes lit up and she said, 'You're an angel! These days everyone's glued to screens, too busy to even look up. Thank you for seeing me.' Her words made me realize how invisible people feel in our digital world.
I was in line at chatime when I overheard the person ahead of me hesitating over their order, then quietly asking the cashier to remove a sandwich to lower the total. Without thinking, I tapped their shoulder and said, "Get whatever you want—I’ve got it." Their stunned smile and repeated "Are you sure?" made my day. They ended up getting their full meal, and as we sat at separate tables, they waved at me with genuine warmth. It cost me barely anything, but the quiet joy of that moment lingered far longer than the coffee.
I noticed a busker's microphone cutting out constantly during their performance, frustrating them and the small crowd. I quickly ran to a nearby electronics store, bought a decent but affordable replacement mic, and handed it to them with a thumbs-up before disappearing into the crowd

While rushing to leave the golf range late Tuesday afternoon, I noticed a young boy maybe 6 or 7 looking sadly at his empty bucket after using up all his practice balls. Even though I was already running behind, I handed him my nearly-full bucket without hesitation so he could keep swinging and smiling.
I spotted a teenager crying silently in a corner of the library, clearly overwhelmed. I sat nearby, slid over a fresh packet of tissues and a small chocolate bar I had, offering a quiet smile without prying.
