MY STORIES
On a sun-kissed afternoon, an elderly lady stands at the base of a gentle hill, her eyes fixed on the summit. I ride a motorcycle. Seeing her plight, I stop and offer my hand with a compassionate smile. She accepts, and with his help, sits side-saddle on the bike. As we ascend the hill together. The scene radiates generosity and community spirit, leaving a trail of shared smiles as they disappear over the hill's crest. #WeMakeAwesomeStories #WeMakeAwesomeHappen #1000StoriesOfKindness #1GENImpactStories
Yesterday, in my neighborhood, a 9-year-old boy named Angad was coming back from school. He looked very tired, so I asked him what was wrong. He said, "Chachu, I am so tired due to school activities." I invited him to come to my house after some time. I made white sauce pasta for him and my family. Seeing the big smile on his face while eating the pasta made all the stress and school burden disappear. #1000storiesofkindness
A moment of my daily routine. Create bond between you and nature.
It was an evening at my neighbor's house, and I found myself helping a student prepare for exams. As I explained the material, I witnessed a transformation in his eyes. It felt as if I had handed him a lantern in the darkness, illuminating the path he needed to follow. I realized that teaching is about igniting hope and shaping futures.
One morning, I noticed a poor lady and a young girl outside my house, sweeping the street. Curious, I stepped outside. The lady hesitated but then asked softly, "Please, can you spare some food?" Moved by her humility, I invited them in and prepared a meal. The young girl looked around my modest home with wide-eyed wonder. As they ate, I noticed the lady's hands trembling, her eyes welling with gratitude and silent stories of hardship. "Thank you," she whispered, her voice cracking. "God bless you." As they left, the young girl gave me a shy smile, her eyes shining with hope. Watching them fade into the distance, I felt their impact deeply. Their silent struggles and the power of a simple act of kindness would stay with me forever.
This evening, I went to the local market to buy some groceries. As I was walking, I spotted a 50 rupee note on the road right in front of me. I looked around but couldn't see anyone nearby, so I picked it up and continued on my way. A little later, a young boy approached me. He looked poor and was picking up trash. With a hopeful expression, he asked, "Bhaji, can you please buy me something to eat?" Moved by his situation, I decided to use the 50 rupees I found to buy him a burger and a cold drink. The moment I handed him the food, his face lit up with the most genuine smile. That smile said more than words ever could. It was a small act, but it felt incredibly rewarding to make a difference in his day.
When my mom left town for a while, I found myself in the kitchen, apron on and spatula in hand. I’ve always been a good cook, but this time, it felt different. The kitchen transformed into my sanctuary, a place where creativity flowed with every chop, stir, and sizzle. Each meal I prepared was a tribute to my mom, a way to keep her close despite the miles between us. I experimented with new recipes, blending flavors and techniques I’d never tried before. As the aromas filled the house, I felt a sense of accomplishment and connection. Cooking became more than a necessity; it was my way of caring for myself and those around me. It reminded me of the warmth of family dinners and the joy of sharing good food. I discovered that in the simple act of cooking, I could create moments of happiness and comfort, even in my mom's absence. When she finally returned, I welcomed her home with a feast, each dish a testament to my growth and newfound passion. We sat together, savoring the flavors and stories behind each bite, and I realized that through cooking, I had not only nourished our bodies but also our spirits.
Yesterday, as the sun dipped low on the horizon, my cousin called in distress. His voice crackled through the phone, frustration evident as he struggled to attend his online lectures. The culprit? A malfunctioning phone jack. Without hesitation, I promised to help. Racing against time, I gathered tools from my toolbox. With a steady hand and a focused mind, I approached the faulty jack, knowing that a simple fix could ease my cousin's burden. Each twist of the screwdriver felt purposeful, each connection tested meticulously. Minutes ticked by like heartbeats as I delved into the intricacies of wires and circuits. Finally, a faint click signaled success—a small victory in a world of digital complexities. As I handed the phone back to my cousin, relief flooded his expression. Gratitude shone in his eyes, a silent acknowledgment of a problem solved. In that moment, I realized the profound impact of small acts of kindness—how a willingness to lend a hand could bridge gaps and mend connections, both digital and personal. The sun had set completely by the time I left, but a warm glow lingered in my heart. Sometimes, being the fixer means more than repairing broken things; it means being there for others when they need it most.
As the sun set, casting a golden glow, I took my evening walk with my husky, Rio. The air was calm, perfect for our stroll. Rounding a corner, we saw two weary figures approaching. "Sardar ji, where is the Gurdwara?" one man asked, his voice tired. They had taken a long, arduous route and were clearly exhausted. Without hesitation, I pointed them in the right direction and explained the way. Their relief and gratitude were evident. As they walked away, I felt a deep sense of fulfillment. Rio wagged her tail, sensing the positivity. That evening, our walk turned special—a reminder of the power of kindness, even in small gestures.
Today afternoon, while I was riding my bike to the market, I saw a 50-year-old man struggling to walk along the highway in the scorching heat. He seemed to be injured, and I could tell he was in pain. I stopped my bike and asked if he needed help. With a look of relief, he asked if I could take him to the Gurdwara, which was 2 to 3 kilometers away, beyond my destination. Without a second thought, I decided to help him. As we reached the Gurdwara, he gave me a warm smile and gently placed his hand on my shoulder in gratitude before heading his way. I turned my bike around and continued on my journey, but now with a smile on my face. The simple yet heartfelt gesture from that man had a profound impact on me, reminding me of the power of kindness and compassion.
In a quiet neighborhood, the clinking of clay utensils brought a sense of tradition and warmth to the home. Today was special as my mom and I picked out new clay items for our kitchen. As we browsed through the store, admiring the craftsmanship, an idea sparked – why not buy some clay utensils for the birds as well? The summer heat was relentless, and we had often seen birds flitting around, searching for water. With this thought in mind, we chose a few simple yet beautiful clay bowls. Back home, we placed them in the garden, filling each with fresh, cool water. Almost instantly, the garden seemed to come alive. Birds of all kinds – sparrows, robins, and even the occasional hummingbird – began to visit, taking delicate sips from the bowls. The transformation was remarkable. Our small act of kindness created a haven for the birds, providing them with a much-needed respite from the scorching sun. Watching them flutter around, we felt a deep sense of satisfaction. The simple clay utensils had become more than just tools; they were symbols of care and connection between us and the natural world.
A few days ago, a 2-year-old boy had his birthday, and I was unsure about which gift to give him. After some thought, I decided to gift him a set of colors and three or four coloring books. I hope this will help increase his creativity and provide him with hours of fun and imaginative play. The joy of exploring colors and filling in the pictures will hopefully spark his interest in art and creativity.
Thank you, Paul, for giving us this great opportunity to enhance our personality, and we got a chance to work on ourselves through the "ELEMENT" program. I'm very curious and excited to see and learn new things.🦋
Everyone has an impactful story that changes their whole life. I’d like to share three stories related to my college life that ultimately led me to an amazing company, 1GEN. Here’s my first story about how I came to attend Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College (GNE). I completed my 12th grade in 2019, and after that, I was planning to go to Canada for further studies. From childhood, I had always wanted to become a mechanical or automotive engineer. However, in 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and I was unable to go to Canada and faced rejection. After some time, my uncle and I visited a polytechnic college where I was admitted. I loved creating working models and had the opportunity to build and design various projects at that college. A few months later, I met with another uncle who is a mechanical engineer and had worked at a high position at Hero Cycles. That day was unforgettable; I was sitting on a sofa with my head down, crying. My uncle said a lot that day, including, "Why are you doing this? You know you want to be a mechanical engineer. Why are you settling for this? Go in the morning and take admission at GNE College." That was a turning point that led me to a new chapter in my life. #ELEMENT2024
My second story is related to my personal growth. At the start of my college life, I was a very shy person and hesitant to talk to strangers. One day, a friend told me that bhangra rehearsals were going on and invited me to join and learn some moves. We went there, and that day I felt completely out of place—I couldn’t catch the beat and looked like a joker. However, I told myself that I had to give it a try because I love exploring new things. Over time, I became a member of the bhangra team. As we know, our surroundings greatly influence who we become. I ended up representing my college on zonal, inter-zonal, and even national stages. This experience not only helped me gain confidence but also taught me many valuable life lessons, including the importance of building connections with others, even strangers. In the last year of college, my coach shared with me that at the beginning, he had doubts about whether I would stick with it, thinking I might drop out like some of my friends had. Hearing this made me realize how far I had come and reinforced the value of perseverance.
My third, but not least, story is related to my skill development. At the end of our second year of engineering, we were required to complete a one-month training. Our college organized a SolidWorks workshop led by an expert. I have a strong interest in 3D modeling and motion study, so I eagerly grabbed a slot for the workshop. The expert had extensive experience, and I was so engrossed that I didn’t even notice when the 5-hour class ended. My interest in SolidWorks grew, and with the help of Mr. Arvind Kapoor, I mastered the software within a week and began exploring motion study for assemblies, which was not covered in the course. With this newfound knowledge, I became one of the best designers in the college, as noted by our professors. When we received an exciting project called "CREATIVELO," we applied this learning to develop something innovative. This skill was also recognized and appreciated by 1GEN and Youth4Planet during COP 28 in Dubai

I am grateful to God, as I always find my way whenever I face difficult situations. There have been many times when I’ve broken down, but God has helped me every time, guiding me to a good, unknown, yet right path.
I am grateful for having so many good people in my life. Everyone has helped me and taught me new things. Even when some left me at certain points, that too was a learning experience. I’ve learned from others what to do and what not to do, and some have even taught me how to speak and how to behave. So, I’m grateful to everyone who has been a part of my life, and I’m excited to see and write the next chapter with new opportunities.
I am grateful for the time that began my writing journey. I used to be a quiet person during school, rarely speaking to anyone. However, before college, I started expressing my sadness through writing, which helped me participate in poetry competitions. This also gave me the opportunity to perform at the Youth Festival on the IKGPTU stage. In 2023, two of my poems were published in the college magazine—one about my mom and the other dedicated to the late Sidhu Moose Wala, an alumnus of our college.
I am grateful for having such supportive parents. There was a time when people said that pursuing a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering wouldn’t lead to many job opportunities, suggesting I should switch to CSE or IT. But my parents stood by me and said, “He wants to be a mechanical engineer, and he can get a good job after it. We believe in him.
I am grateful to some of my school teachers who encouraged me to start making working models. They showed their trust in me, which gave me a new kind of confidence, and eventually, I won school and interschool competitions. I am sharing a model that shows an old irrigation system, and this was the dream of my school's principal to have a model of this. When he saw the model, i saw tears in his eyes, and i know he liked it.

I’m incredibly thankful for the team I had on the Creativelo project. Everyone has been so supportive, and we’ve spent much of our time together on the bridge, working hard while also having fun. I would especially like to mention my CD, Twinkle. She’s an amazing person and incredibly helpful. I’ve learned so much from her already, but I know it’s just a drop in the ocean—I look forward to learning even more from her
Today, I’m expressing gratitude to myself for always choosing to help my family whenever I have time. For example, our RO water filter hadn’t been working for a few days, so when I had some free time on Sunday, I fixed it. I also sanded down a rusty steel rack and painted it. Even though I got injured while cleaning, it was a new learning experience. Additionally, I’ve taken on the task of repairing the bicycles for the kids in my neighborhood, which I really enjoy doing.
I love both eating and cooking, and I’m grateful for the food I enjoy. I’m not a big fan of junk food, but when I do crave it, I prefer making it at home—like red and white sauce pasta, noodles, burgers, and kulchas. I’m also thankful to my mom for always preparing healthy meals for me.
I am deeply grateful for the place I call home. It’s a beautiful land surrounded by mountains and embraced by two rivers. Being here fills me with happiness, and I feel truly fortunate to live in such a peaceful and stunning environment.
Shoutout for Prabhjot Singh! During the last Zoom session with college students for the CreatiVelo project at the movement, the PPT was crupted due to some reasons, Prabhjot said, "Don't worry, i will a new one from previous PPT. I am not able to explain that movement and am very thankful for his efforts.
Today, I am very thankful for the team meeting organized by Twinkle and Gurpinder. This was the first time we met, and i don't feel that we are meeting the first time because when we sit and start talking, the energy level is at different levels. When i started my day, i felt low due to less energy, but after the meeting, energy was at different levels.
16 October 2024, I was going to Chandigarh for college visits and waiting long for the bus. But suddenly a car came in front of me and a young man said "paji Chandigarh janna? " Their was another man in the car who is going to Chandigarh. When i sit in the car, both start talking, i get to know that they both are in the army and sharing their experiences. He dropped me at sector 43 Chandigarh, The man is so kind that he is not taking money and said kissi aur di help kr denna ess se. I feel that their are still kind-hearted people who want to help others.
Today, i want to thank my Element team. They are very supportive whenever i am in trouble or having doubts, they all come and help me and give me some path to follow.

Greatful for the Music
I am grateful for the online shopping and gift cards given by Paul.
A girl was quite curious to sit in the driver's seat of my car last night. I let her, and after taking a few pictures, her smile truly made my day
"The smallest acts of kindness can spark the greatest joys." Today, I fixed a little girl's broken toy, and when she saw it working again, her face lit up with pure joy. Her happiness was infectious, a beautiful reminder that sometimes, the simplest gestures bring the most profound delight. That smile was truly the best reward.
Today, I helped my mom make tandoori roti, and it was such an enjoyable time. The best part was seeing them puff up on the tandoor and then enjoying the delicious rotis we made together.
Today, I went to someone's home and brought some burgers from their favorite shop as a small treat for their children. They were so happy, and the joy on their faces was truly priceless.
