MY STORIES
Yesterday afternoon, I was walking down the street when a homeless mother approached me. She looked anxious and had her young child with her. She asked if I could spare any change for food. Instead of giving her money, I decided to take her and her child to a nearby grocery store. As we walked, she told me about how they had fallen on hard times and were struggling to get by. In the store, we picked out essential items: flour, sugar, oil, rice, and a few other basics. With each item, I could see the relief on her face. Her child's eyes lit up when I added some fresh fruit and a small treat. At the checkout, she turned to me with tears in her eyes and said, "Thank you. You have no idea how much this means to us." I smiled and replied, "Everyone deserves a little help. Take care." As we left the store, she hugged her child tightly, looking hopeful and grateful. It was a small act, but it made a big difference to them and reminded me of the impact a bit of kindness can have
Meet Tiger, my friend who’s always outside my house to greet and accompany me wherever I go. Be it a run to the gym or a walk to get the groceries, he’s has been my constant companion since last 6 years. And all he needs is a little kindness, attention and love. Whenever I meet him, I give him good rub on the head and a small treat for him to remember me everyday. And now, I wait to see him everyday, just like he does.
At a traffic signal, I met a group of kids and asked if they attended school. One boy proudly said he was in 3rd grade and began reciting the alphabet, finishing confidently. Inspired, the other kids joined in, reciting English poems in their charming, broken English. Moved by their enthusiasm, I bought some nutritious food and treats, and returned to share with them. They joyfully posed for a photo and eagerly started their meal. I encouraged them to keep studying hard, reminding them that dedication to education would bring them many sweet rewards in life.
Yesterday, I felt overwhelmed and stressed. Work was intense, and personal commitments piled up. I knew I needed a break, but felt guilty stepping away. So yesterday evening, I chose to be kind to myself. I went to the gym, something I hadn't done in a while. I let the exercise clear my mind and release the tension I was holding. Afterward, I made a healthy dinner and enjoyed it slowly, savoring each bite. I put on calming music and spent time reflecting on last week and expressing gratitude for the positives. By the end of the night, I felt renewed and calm. This small act of self-kindness reminded me of the importance of self-care, helping me face my challenges with a clearer mind and a lighter heart. Remember to be kind to yourself as well.
Today afternoon, I noticed four children playing joyfully in the muddy puddles forming on the street. Inspired by their pure delight and camaraderie, I decided to share in their happiness. I quickly grabbed some old mats and placed them around the puddles, giving the children a cleaner, safer space to continue their play. Their laughter and smiles only grew, and I felt a profound sense of fulfillment, knowing that a small act of kindness had turned a rainy day into a heartwarming memory for all of us. In this simple gesture, the power of unity and the beauty of finding joy in everyday moments were truly illuminated.
As a Career Development Coach within our organization, I recently noticed one of my mentees looking particularly discouraged after a team meeting. They had been working hard but felt their efforts were going unnoticed and were unsure about their next steps. Yesterday, I decided to spend some extra time reviewing their recent projects and accomplishments. I identified key strengths and potential areas for growth that had not been fully recognized by others. Today, I arranged a one-on-one meeting with them. We discussed their career aspirations in detail, and I provided actionable feedback on how they could leverage their skills to take on more challenging projects. I also facilitated a connection with a senior leader in the organization for mentorship, opening new opportunities for their professional development. By the end of our meeting, I could see a visible change in their demeanor. They felt more confident and had a clear action plan to move forward. It was gratifying to see how a bit of extra support and encouragement could make such a significant impact on their career journey within our organization.

Last night, I ran into an old friend from school who used to bully me. He seemed uneasy talking to me after all these years, especially since I was now the more confident one and could have treated him the same way he once treated me. Instead, I decided to be kind. I told him I forgave him for what happened back then. He looked relieved, and it felt like a weight was lifted off both our shoulders. We spent the rest of the evening catching up, laughing about our lives, and realizing how much we had both grown. It reminded me that forgiveness is a gift that benefits everyone involved.
This weekend, something special happened. While I was in the market, I noticed an elderly lady who seemed lost and worried. She wasn't asking for help outright, but her eyes told a different story. Feeling a tug at my heart, I went up to her and asked if she was okay. She quietly said she was lost and waiting for her family, but had no way to contact them. She seemed so vulnerable and alone. I asked for her address, and although she could only give me a rough idea, I decided to help. I booked a cab for her, gave her some extra money just in case, and asked the driver to make sure she got home safely and to let me know when she did. After a while, the driver called to say she had reached home and reunited with her family. Hearing this made my day. Her family even spoke to me, expressing their gratitude for helping her. This small act of kindness reminded me how important it is to look out for one another. It's amazing how something so simple can mean so much to someone in need.

I was walking home from gym when I saw this street dog curled up, shivering a little. He looked up as I passed—eyes tired, tail wagging just a bit. I stopped. He wasn’t asking for anything, just… acknowledging I was there. I sat down beside him for a minute. Gave him a gentle pat on the head. He leaned into it like he hadn’t been touched kindly in a while. I didn’t have food or anything to offer, just a few minutes of presence.
Every day, I try to help my mom with small things around the house, cleaning, watering the plants, organizing things she’s too tired to get to. She never asks, but I know it lightens her day, even just a little. It’s not about grand gestures. It’s about showing love in everyday moments. A quiet way of saying, “You’re not alone. I’ve got your back.”
