MY STORIES
I am thrilled to join the “Element leadership program”. I feel this program will help me to learn new things and will help me in my future endeavours. I am really thankful to Paul for giving his precious time and ideas to us through ELEMENT. 🦋
I’m not sure whether it was a turning point in my life or a second chance, but it was a pivotal moment. An old male friend and I decided to attend the same college, and we both got accepted. In the beginning, everything seemed to be going well, but after some time, things started to change. A few more girls joined our group, and although there were four of us, I often found myself feeling left out. After a while, that male friend began pressuring me into casual things, but I refused and decided to distance myself from him. About a month later, I noticed he started dating one of the girls who had joined our group. One day, his girlfriend approached me and began slut-shaming me. I showed her the texts he used to send me, which were convincing enough to clear up the situation, but she still blamed and shamed me. After that, our friendships fell apart, and the group stuck together while I was left alone. Unfortunately, those girls were also my roommates, but they rarely stayed in the room. I asked my parents if I could switch rooms, but they refused and told me to adjust. I was mentally harassed, and thoughts of ending my life consumed me. One day, I decided I couldn’t take it anymore—I swallowed 30 sleeping pills and an entire bottle of insulin. Not long after, a classmate came by to ask me something and found me unconscious. I was rushed to the hospital and spent two days in the ICU. My parents came, and somehow, miraculously, my blood tests came back completely normal. Even my blood sugar remained stable despite the high dose of insulin. That day, I realized I had been given a second chance at life, and I wasn’t going to waste it on people who didn’t truly care about me. From that moment on, I committed to becoming a better version of myself every day. #ELEMENT2024
Growing up, I was quite dark-skinned and chubby, which made me the target of mockery. Over time, this chipped away at my confidence and turned me into a very introverted person. I barely spoke in class and kept to myself. Everything changed when I met the love of my life in 10th grade. He was my senior, one of the most popular personalities in school. We started as friends, and over time, we fell in love. He was the one who helped me find my voice and gave me the confidence to chase my dreams. He always made my goals and aspirations a priority and constantly encouraged me to pursue them. We’ve now been together for 6 years and are engaged, with plans to get hitched in a few years. I know I wouldn’t be the person I am today if he hadn’t come into my life. Meeting him truly transformed my life. #ELEMENT2024

In eighth grade, I enrolled in a tuition to improve my math and science skills. Unfortunately, my tutor was rude, biased, and exhibited inappropriate behavior towards female students. I witnessed him physically assault students, including placing his hands on their thighs and hugging them without consent. To avoid further interaction, I maintained a distance from him. However, he began to target me with verbal abuse, criticizing my work and appearance. He even challenged me to fail my exams. I used this as motivation to prove him wrong, and I achieved excellent grades. This experience taught me to turn challenges into opportunities for growth. #ELEMENT2024

One of the favorite childhood memories of Diwali is the excitement knowing that Chhath Puja was just around the corner. Diwali wasn't just a festival on its own; it marked the beginning of the festival of time when the entire family would gather together, both to feast with lights and sweets and to get ready for the rituals of Chhath. The glow of diyas and the buzz of getting ready for both festivals would infuse the house with aliveness. This, by the way, is the special mix of festivity and devotion. For me Diwali was a reminder that Chhath Puja is arriving shortly. HAPPY DIWALI for me is warmth, togetherness and joy in being together during the Chhath Puja with extended family. It’s about illuminating our homes and hearts while preparing for the deeper spiritual connection that Chhath Puja brings.

Breaking Barriers: Balancing Dual Commitments Managing both my ELEMENT project assignment and sprint targets at 1Gen felt like a constant juggling act. Deadlines clashed, priorities shifted, and there were moments when I questioned if I could keep up. Instead of feeling overwhelmed, I focused on structure—breaking tasks into smaller goals, setting clear priorities, and staying adaptable. In the end, I didn’t just complete both successfully—I learned how to thrive under pressure, stay organized, and deliver impact in multiple spaces. Breaking barriers isn’t always about big victories—it’s about proving to yourself that you can handle more than you think.✨

Grateful for the internet for keeping is connected
Grateful for internet connection for keeping us connected
Today at the gym, I saw our elderly caretaker struggling to rerack the heavy dumbbells all by himself. Without a second thought, I stepped in to help him organize and lift them back in place. It may have been a small act, but his smile and relief said it all.
A few days ago, my friend paid for our girl’s date and didn’t let me contribute. Today, after our gym session, we decided to go shopping. While casually browsing and selecting clothes, I silently made up my mind to surprise her. As we reached the billing counter and she moved to pay for her dress, I gently took it from her hands. She insisted on paying, but I smiled and reminded her, “You paid last time, and I didn’t say a word. Now it’s my turn.” That small gesture lit up her face with the sweetest smile and in that moment, her happiness brought the biggest joy to my heart.
Last time my friend and I went on a girls’ date, she paid the entire bill and didn’t even let me contribute. Today, after our gym session, we decided to go shopping. Now it’s my turn.” That small gesture lit up her face with the sweetest smile and in that moment, her happiness brought the biggest joy to my heart.
Today at the gym, I noticed the old caretaker sitting quietly, looking a bit down. I walked up to him and gently asked if everything was okay. He softly shared that he’s been feeling very lonely lately , no one to talk to, no one around. So, my boyfriend and I sat beside him, and for the next hour, we simply talked about life, memories, and little things that matter. Before leaving, we offered him a small amount to buy some snacks, just as a gesture of care. As we got up to go, he smiled warmly and said, “Thank you for talking to me.” That smile, it stayed with me. Because sometimes, the kindest thing you can do is simply listen. 🤍✨
Today, when I went to give lunch to my househelp, I noticed the dal had gone bad. There was no other sabji prepared either. I asked him to wait for a few minutes, explaining that I couldn’t possibly serve him spoiled food. I went back into the kitchen and quickly prepared a fresh sabji for him. When I finally served the meal, he smiled and quietly shared that in many houses, people often give househelps spoiled food just to avoid waste or the effort of cooking again. That moment made me reflect that kindness isn’t always about grand gestures. Sometimes, it’s about making sure someone eats with dignity. Everyone deserves fresh food, respect, and care. 💛
There was a pooja at my house and many guests had come. The kitchen was super busy, and my cook was handling everything alone. I decided to step in and help, from cutting veggies to serving food, I did whatever I could to make things easier. My cook smiled and said, “Thank you, this really helped.” It felt nice to be there when someone needed support. 🍽️
This weekend, we went out for dinner at a restaurant but this time, we took our househelp along with us. Instead of just asking him to eat what we ordered, we handed him the menu and told him, “Order whatever you feel like eating.” He looked surprised at first but then smiled and carefully picked the dishes he wanted. Watching him enjoy his meal with joy and comfort felt truly special. Sometimes, kindness is just making someone feel equal.
