MY STORIES
I spent today in our farmhouse orchard, feeding a cow and some local cows with fresh grass, fruit peelings, and peeled fruits. As I approached them, their gentle eyes and grateful acceptance reminded me of the power of kindness. This simple act nourished not just the cows, but my soul as well, highlighting how small gestures can create meaningful impacts.
A Sweet Surprise: Creating Joy with a Chilled Rabri Cake Today, I decided to surprise my family, who are big-time dessert lovers, with something special. While scrolling through Instagram, I came across a unique recipe for a chilled rabri cake made with breadcrumbs. Inspired, I made time for cooking and poured my heart into creating this delicious treat. With love and care, I followed the recipe and made a dessert my family had never tried before. The joy of seeing their surprised and delighted faces as they tasted the chilled rabri cake was priceless. This act of kindness reminded me how small gestures, like making a special dessert, can bring immense happiness and create lasting memories.
“Books, Friendship, and Surprise” I decided to surprise two of my closest friends with a gesture that brought back our cherished memories. We three have always been a big time book lovers, often traveling together to the English bookstore in Chandigarh to discover new novels. Though our busy lives have kept us apart, our love for books has always kept us connected. To rekindle that bond, I ordered books for each of them, selecting titles I knew they had been wanting. When they received their surprise gifts, the heartfelt thank you notes and their excitement filled my day with joy. This small act of kindness reminded me of the importance of nurturing friendships, even when we are miles apart. It’s the little things that keep our connections strong and our hearts full.
“Creating Special Moments for New Beginnings” This weekend my mom and I decided to clean out our storeroom of our house. Being a Saturday we thought it was the perfect day for this long-overdue task. As we started sorting things, we discovered a treasure trove of bridal lehengas from 15-20years ago. These beautiful Lehangas were from the days when my mom ran her Salon business and rented out these lehengas to brides. These lehengas, adorned by many brides in the past, had been stored away for years. With wedding season approaching and knowing that a nearby temple arranges weddings for those who cannot afford them, we decided to pack these lehengas to gift them to the brides. This initiative, supported by our community, helps arrange weddings for poor and homeless individuals. As we packed these lehengas, knowing two weddings are happening this week, my heart filled with joy and warmth. The thought of these special lehengas bringing happiness and making new brides feel beautiful on their special day was overwhelming. This simple act of kindness reminded me of the power of giving and the joy it can bring to others.
"Kindness and Connection" Today, I reflected on a special lady (Meet Indra Aunty) from a nearby village who has been a part of our lives for years. She used to work at our house and now work in our orchard and used to take care of me when we were in school. Now older, she continues to visit us, bringing fresh vegetables and always offering us fruits as gifts whenever me and my brother passes by, a small kind beautiful effort by her to make us feel special. This was the time to truly acknowledge her kindness, Today Instead of letting her sit outside on the stairs, I invited her inside, offering her a drink of Ruhabza that I had made. We had a warm conversation, and I expressed my gratitude for everything she's done for us over the years. She shared stories of her life, and it was a moment of deep connection. This act of kindness was not just about giving but about cherishing and honoring the bonds we share. Thanks to this campaign, I'm learning to recognize and initiate acts of kindness in my daily life, ensuring that I continue to appreciate those who make a difference.
“Keeping Our Mountains Clean” Every year, many tourists come to Himachal Pradesh to enjoy its beautiful valleys and nature. But sadly, they often leave litter behind, spoiling the environment. This makes me feel bad because we should take care of the mountains. So, I decided to do something about it. I started picking up litter wherever I found it, from trails to quiet spots. I collected wrappers, plastic bottles, and other waste, making sure to throw them in proper bins. I also began talking to tourists, reminding them to carry their waste in bags and dispose of it properly. They appreciated the reminder and promised to be more careful. Through these actions, I hope to inspire others to be kind to our mountains. Together, we can keep our nature clean and beautiful for everyone to enjoy.
“A Taste of Himachal for My Friend” Yesterday one of my closest friend from Amritsar, as she’s extremely fond of Himachali food, especially a dish called Siddu She asked me for suggestions on where she could order some. Instead of just giving her a suggestion, I decided to surprise her. I knew a wonderful dhaba run by an aunty from Himachal who makes amazing Himachali food. I ordered her favorite dishes from there through Swiggy and had them delivered to her. She was extremely happy and grateful for the surprise. Seeing her happy made my day.
“A Bowl of Kindness: Fruits for All” In my family, we have a daily routine after breakfast, where we enjoy a bowl full of fruits. Since everyone is busy with their own business, I take on the task of cutting the fruits and sending bowls to my mother, father, brother, and grandfather at their shops. Today, while following our routine, I thought about our shop's workers and decided to cut extra fruits and send bowls to them as well. It was a small gesture to show appreciation and share some sweetness with them. They felt so refreshed and happy after eating the fruits, and this simple act made me feel really good. It was a small way to extend our family tradition and spread a little kindness.
“A Wedding Gift of Appreciation and Blessings” There is a special girl who has worked with our family as a helper for many years, becoming an integral part of our family. She has always been there, helping my mother and supporting us through countless moments. Coming from an underprivileged background, she has faced many challenges, but her spirit and dedication have always shone brightly. Now, as she prepares to get married, my mother and I wanted to show our deep appreciation and love for her. We decided to create a special farewell for her, filled with meaningful gifts and blessings. We thoughtfully put together gift packs that included beautiful clothes, makeup products, and various other essentials she might need. Additionally, we included shaggan, a traditional token of good luck and blessings. Seeing her smile and knowing we could make her feel special on her big day filled our hearts with joy.
Guiding Gentle Souls to Safety Today during the nigt time I was heading to somewhere with my parents, we encountered a potentially dangerous situation. We were on a highway, heading back home, when we spotted two calf and a cow in the middle of the road. The dark color of the cows made them almost invisible against the night, and I recalled how often I’d seen animals being hit by speeding vehicles under similar circumstances. Concerned for their safety, we immediately stopped our car. My dad and I quickly got out and signaled for the approaching cars to slow down and stop, as single-lane roads are common in the mountains. My parents and I carefully guided the cows off the road and to the side, ensuring they were safe from oncoming traffic. This small act of kindness was our way of caring for these gentle creatures and ensuring their safety. This experience reminded me of the importance of looking out for all living beings, even those who might often go unnoticed. It reinforced the idea that kindness isn’t just about grand gestures but also about the small, everyday actions that can make a big difference.
Every morning, a woman comes to our house to pick up the garbage. She works hard every day to support her daughter, who goes to school. Today, while talking with my mom, she mentioned that it was her daughter’s birthday tomorrow. She was planning to buy some toffees and sweets for her daughter to share with her classmates at school. Hearing this, I immediately wanted to help make her daughter’s birthday special. I decided to buy a variety of sweets, toffees, and chocolates for her to distribute at school. When I gave her the treats, she was overjoyed and grateful. This small act of kindness felt wonderful, knowing it would make her daughter’s day extra special.

A Daily Kindness for Our Feathered Friends Every day, a flock of pigeons gathers around our house. Today, I noticed how difficult the extreme summer and humid weather must be for them. Inspired to help, I decided to make it a routine to care for these birds. From now on, every morning, I will set out small bites of rotis and a bowl of water for them. Today, I started this act of kindness by throwing small pieces of rotis and ensuring they had fresh water to drink. This simple gesture made me realize the joy of caring for our feathered friends and committing to making their lives a little easier every day.
Lending a Hand in the Orchard During the apple season in Himachal, our orchards come alive with activity. Today, while visiting our orchard, I noticed the laborers diligently spraying the apple trees. My dad and I decided to join them and help with the entire process. As we worked alongside them, we had meaningful conversations and learned a lot about farming and the intricacies of spraying. It was enlightening to hear their experiences and insights. To show our appreciation for their hard work, we provided them with food and made Maggie for everyone. This experience made me realize how crucial their efforts are to the success of our orchards. Acknowledging and supporting them was a small act of kindness that filled the day with gratitude.

As we wrap up this year, I feel truly grateful for the amazing journey so far. The milestones we’ve achieved together wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work, passion, and dedication of each team member here at 1GEN I’m excited about the future, about continuing to grow, and about the opportunities that lie ahead in 2025. Let’s keep pushing boundaries, celebrating wins, and making AWESOME happen.
A Journey of Passion, Curiosity, and Leadership From the very beginning, I was a curious soul—always eager to learn, explore, and do a hundred things at once. I loved multitasking, jumping into every activity, and pushing my boundaries. The spark to create, to lead, and to be spontaneous was always within me. But if there’s one person who nurtured this spark into a flame, it’s my mom. She always encouraged me to follow my passions, take a stand, and be fearless in a room full of voices. She taught me that leadership isn’t just about guiding others—it’s about being true to yourself, embracing challenges, and never stopping the journey of learning. Today, I look back with gratitude—for every lesson, every obstacle, and every opportunity that shaped me. My mom was the first leader I followed, and thanks to her, I became the person I am today To every woman carving her path: You are capable. You are strong. You are limitless. Keep learning, keep leading, and keep breaking barriers. This International Women’s Day, I stand as an ally and a leader, celebrating the power of resilience and the incredible women who inspire us every day.
Breaking Barriers, Lifting Each Other Up For me, breaking barriers isn’t just about pushing through challenges—it’s about making sure no one has to break them alone. As a leader, I’ve seen how powerful it is when women support each other. When we lift each other up, share opportunities, and stand together, we don’t just break barriers—we erase them for the next generation. Empowerment starts with a simple belief: there’s space for all of us to grow, to lead, and to succeed. It’s in the way we amplify each other’s voices, celebrate each other’s wins, and encourage each other to dream bigger. This is for all the incredible women of 1GEN—for your strength, your leadership, and the way you support and uplift each other every day. You inspire, you break barriers, and you create a culture where everyone thrives. This International Women’s Day, let’s commit to being the women who empower other women. Because when one of us rises, we all do.
To the women breaking down barriers. To the women lifting each other up. To the women paving the way for our future. To the women who never give up. To the women who are our biggest supporters. To the women making a change. You are smart, strong, resilient, beautiful and powerful. You matter. You are loved. Here's to you HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN's DAY
A Scoop of Kindness🍦 Today, I ordered ice cream for my friends and me. We were all craving something cold and sweet, and ice cream felt like the perfect little joy. But while placing the order, I paused for a second and thought about the delivery person—the one who would travel all the way in the heat or rain just to bring us this treat. So, I added a tip. A small thank you from my heart. When the Swiggy guy arrived, he handed me the ice cream with a smile, and said, “Thank you, ma’am.” That small “thank you” hit differently. It wasn’t just ice cream anymore—it felt like I had added a scoop of kindness too. And it made me feel just as warm and happy as the treat itself. 🍨💛
🥘A Little Extra Love, Served Warm Today at Lunch, I made some extra paneer masala dish—soft, creamy, full of flavor. As I stood in the kitchen, I thought of our house helper and her little ones. So I packed a portion with love, neatly wrapped it, and handed it to her with a gentle smile. She paused for a second, surprised, then smiled back—the kind of smile that feels like sunshine. “Thank you, didi,” she said softly, eyes a little brighter. And in that small exchange, I felt something shift. Like the warmth from my kitchen had found its way into someone else’s evening. Kindness doesn’t always come wrapped in big gestures. Sometimes, it’s tucked in a steel box of paneer curry, sent with love, and received with joy. 🍛💛
🕊️For the Wings That Visit My Window Every morning, a few little birds come by the wall just outside my house. They don’t ask for much—just a safe place to rest So today, I placed a small bowl of grains and a dish of clean water for them. As I stepped back, I watched them flutter in—cautiously at first, then freely. Pecking gently, sipping slowly. Their tiny wings brushing the breeze. There was something so calming in that moment— As if I was part of nature’s quiet rhythm, Doing something that asked for nothing in return, But still filled me with so much peace. It’s a small thing, really. But maybe, to them, it means everything. And to me—it felt like love, the kind that doesn’t speak, Just shows up. Every day. 🌾💧🕊️
A Walk, A Smile, A Small Surprise This evening, I stepped out for a walk to the nearby park. The weather today was nice, with some showers and clouds. As I walked past the benches, I noticed a couple sitting quietly under a tree. Their clothes were worn, their hands a little tired—perhaps daily wage workers resting after a long day. They weren’t asking for anything. Just sitting together, talking softly, watching life pass by. I continued my walk, but their calm presence stayed with me. On my way back, I stopped at the grocery store to pick up a few things. and while placing things into my basket, I paused— What if I got something for them too? So I added a couple of fresh juice boxes, some bananas, and a pack of biscuits. Simple things. But maybe, just enough to feel seen. As I passed the same spot in the park, they were still there. I walked up gently, handed them the little bag, smiled and said, “Just something for you both to enjoy this evening.” They looked at each other, then at me—eyes wide, surprised. The lady pressed her palms together with a soft “thank you.” And the man smiled with eyes that said more than words ever could. As I walked home, I felt lighter n Amazing. Kindness doesn’t always need a reason. Sometimes, it’s just a quiet answer to what your heart feels in a moment. And today, mine felt full. ☀️🍌🧡
🌿Sangrand & the Joy of Giving Today is Sangrand—the sacred beginning of the month of Sawan in the Nanakshahi calendar. Sangrand is not just a date on the calendar; it’s a day of prayers, blessings, and new beginnings. And Sawan, with its rains and greenery, reminds us of renewal, gratitude, and seva—selfless giving. Since I was little, I’ve seen my family observe Sangrand by offering prayers and giving to those in need. So today, I wanted to carry forward that beautiful tradition in my own simple way. I prepared a small gift for our house helper— A bundle of green goodness as giving green things on wednesday. 🥒 Fresh green vegetables 🍈 Seasonal fruits 🌱 Green moong dal 🪔 Daily-use essentials All carefully packed with warmth and the spirit of sharing. When I handed it to her, she looked happy and then truly touched— Her face lit up with the kind of smile that says a lot without saying anything at all. And It made me feel full. Full of love. Full of peace. Full of purpose. Because Kindness is not just about marking time— It’s about marking hearts. With kindness, with tradition, with the simple joy of giving. 💚🌧️✨
